You are listening to some traditional folksongs from Kenya collected and performed by some musicians from Nakuru.
They are led by Albert Odul Nyanje who arranged the recording session and provided most of the following information about the songs.
The ‘Band’ is led by Albert who is standing on the left in this photo. The other musicians are:
Gerald Omondi Opondo – composer and instrumentalist. He plays the lyre (see in the photo), shakers and ankle bells. He is currently a university student, studying music.
John Opondo Ahenda Composer and village cobbler.
John Ouma Oyenga Performer. Local social worker.
Lawrence Otieno Ogidho Performer.
Rose Odul Provided hospitality for the recording and lots of background information about the songs.
